Palanquet started training with Andre Eugene in the mid 1990's. He creates some larger pieces but excels at smaller figurative, and almost narrative, pieces combining wood carving and recycling. “This work represents a man after the spirit has taken over his body. I use the combination of wood, plastic, steel, nails and tyres to represent the strength and force of this mystical thing that has possessed this man’s body. The different materials I use represent the struggles between the flesh and the spirit.”
